We are committed to protecting the environment, preventing pollution and minimising the environmental impacts arising from our activities, products and services. This includes our commitment to continually improving our environmental management system and environmental performance, and to fulfilling applicable environmental legal and regulatory requirements, permit conditions and other compliance obligations relevant to our activities, products and services.
Our approach to sustainability is set out in four interlinked policies and plans: our Environmental Policy, our Carbon Reduction Plan, Energy Policy and Waste Management Policy & Plan.
Our Environmental Policy sets out our approach to managing our environmental impacts and provides the framework for our environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001:2026.
Our company is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050. Our Carbon Reduction Plan has been developed with reference to PPN 06/21 and associated guidance, and reporting follows the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard.
Across all three scopes of emissions data, using the tools identified, it is estimated that our company produces 1,048 tonnes of CO₂e. To progress towards Net Zero, we have adopted the following targets:
• Reduce carbon emissions by 10% by 2030 from our baseline year.
• Switch 25% of our fleet to electric/hybrid by 2030
• Source 100% renewable electricity by 2030
• Reduce waste to landfill by 15% by 2030 from our baseline year.
The following initiatives have already been completed or are planned and progress is measured annually:
• Transitioning fleet from diesel to electric/hybrid vehicles (2026: 1 EV vehicle in place, 3 EV
vehicles ordered)
• Introducing EV charge points at company premises (2026)
• Improving office energy efficiency through insulation upgrades (2027)
• Purchasing renewable energy for our office (2027)
• Encouraging remote meetings to reduce business travel (2026)
• Recycling and waste segregation improvements (recycling already in place but improved
segregation would maximise recycling opportunities - 2026)
• Use recycled paper in the office (2026)
• Promoting car-sharing and cycle-to-work schemes (2026)
• Implement energy efficiency proposals in line with our Energy Policy
• Implement waste management proposals to minimise waste to landfill and increase recycling in support of our Waste Management Plan.
OUR ENERGY POLICY
Our company is committed to managing and reducing its energy consumption to minimise environmental impact, reduce operating costs, and support sustainable development. This policy is intrinsically linked to delivering our Carbon Reduction Plan; and sets out our principles and goals for responsible energy use across all areas of the business.
Our objectives are to:
- Reduce unnecessary idling and improve route planning across our vehicle fleet
- Replace inefficient lighting and equipment with energy-efficient alternatives where feasible
- Encourage staff to adopt energy-saving behaviours (e.g., switching off unused equipment, reporting
excessive use)
- Improve insulation and reduce heating/cooling losses in our premises
- Prioritise energy-efficient tools and equipment during procurement
- Promote eco-driving practices to reduce fuel use
- Monitor vehicle mileage and fuel consumption
- Evaluate options for hybrid or electric vehicles as part of future fleet replacement strategies
OUR WASTE MANAGEMENT POLICY
Our Waste Management Policy sets measurable goals for waste reduction and recycling rates, to meet our duties under the relevant regulations, while contributing to a more sustainable future and reducing costs. This includes the development of a waste management plan that is cost-effective and sustainable.
Our aims are to:
1. Reduce Waste: Implement waste minimisation strategies to decrease landfill reliance and increase
recycling rates.
2. Reduce Costs: Identify opportunities to reduce waste management expenses through better
segregation, supplier engagement, and waste reduction initiatives.
3. Compliance: We are committed to fulfilling all applicable environmental legal and regulatory
requirements, permit conditions and other compliance obligations relevant to our activities, products
and services.
4. Enhance Sustainability: Promote reuse and recycling while reducing the company’s
environmental footprint.
5. Encourage Staff Engagement: Provide training and awareness to ensure employees follow best
practices for waste handling and disposal.
The policy applies to all waste generated by our company, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, office, and fleet-related waste. It supports compliance with UK environmental regulations while focusing on waste reduction and cost efficiency.
The policy lays out clear responsibilities within the company for tasks relating to the following areas:
- Waste segregation & storage
- Waste collection & disposal
- Ensuring compliance with regulations and documentation
- Handling hazardous waste
- Reducing waste & cost control
- Staff training & awareness
- Auditing & continual improvement
OUR WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN
Our Waste Management Plan sets out how we will approach our waste audit assessment, including identifying waste sources, quantifying waste, and setting out waste reduction strategies. These include reducing use, reusing materials and old equipment, improving recycling and managing disposal
efficiently. It also sets out how the company will communicate its plans to stakeholders, including how we will
encourage our supply chain to move towards improved waste management practices, and how we will train staff accordingly.
The plan also details how we will monitor and evaluate performance against our targets, with the results feeding into the evaluation of our performance against our Carbon Reduction Plan.
This Sustainability Commitment is supported by our Environmental Policy, which sets out the framework for managing our environmental aspects, compliance obligations, risks and opportunities, objectives and continual improvement in accordance with ISO 14001:2026.
